Transliteration according to the GOST 16876-71 table 2

The GOST 16876-71 standard was developed for transliterating geographical names and was recommended for use in the manufacture of maps. It became widely known due to the fact that it formed the basis of the official transliteration system developed by UN experts. In 2002, this standard was replaced with GOST 7.79 (ISO 9). This standard provides two transliteration systems:
